I've created this page because I want to make a difference.
My name is David W, and I’m cycling 3,500 km from Perth to Melbourne to raise funds and awareness for towards supporting vital brain cancer research and families affected across Australia.
In January this year, I agreed to take on this challenge… despite the fact that
I hadn’t ridden a bike in almost six years. I’m now in the middle of an
incredibly intense training block, with only 3.5 months to build from zero base
fitness to the capability required to complete a ride of this scale.
The effort, discomfort, and uncertainty involved in this journey mirror in a
small way the fight faced by those living with brain cancer. That purpose is
what drives every kilometer.
I have two small healthy children and to find that brain cancer kills more
children in Australian than any other disease is not good enough!
I'm inspired by the work of Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, so I wanted to
raise money by fundraising my way.
Please help me support vital brain cancer research. The more
people that know about Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, the greater their
impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and
family.
We're on a mission to support the brilliant researchers working hard to find a
cure for brain cancer.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
